I should mention that violence is kept to a minimum (no need for it!) This film is based on a true story of a dance teacher, Pierre, who obtains a job teaching dance to multi racial inner city kids that are seen by the system as failing and 'no-hopers'.

This is a very inspirational true story about a dance teacher who goes into the bad part of town and starts working with underprivileged kids who everyone else has given up on.

I lean toward programs with academics for after school activities to improve math but I also love dance, so keep in mind that I give this review with a bit of my own admitted math teacher bias.

The system gave up on these kids but this teacher did not. I have watched this film on more than one occasion and I never get tired of it, just love it. Mr. Banderas is inspiring in his role of acting and comes across as believable. 0. tomm098. The youthful members of cast worked with the real Pierre Dulaine to get their dance moves correct for the movie. I really , REALLY wanted to enjoy this film----I really did.BUT I am so SO sad to say that I didn't.

I just love this DVD I personally know Pierre Dulaine who this story is based on.

Some of the music was to "loud" for me. Most costumes were modest and all were stunning. Pierre came under fire from a teacher in the school. There really are only a few different genres and ideas for movies, what makes a movie, is what they DO with those familiar story lines. The film was released on April 7, 2006. AKA: Тримай ритм. I just found it a little boring[sorry!!!] As for the dancing, it ranged from the very good to the absolutely amazing! I love this DVD and have bought many copies for friends and family too - it is based on a true story about a dance teacher who wants to help some students who are currently on detention - he feels by teaching them dance he will be enhancing their lives with culture and respect for others; there are quite a few tongue in cheek humorous moments in this film and the dance scenes are really good especially the Tango scene and if you are an Antonio Banderas fan then this film is worth buying just for that - WOW!
